Manshausen: Adventure and Tranquility in Perfect Harmony

Beskrivelse

Information

Manshausen is an architectural landmark set in the Arctic archipelago of Northern Norway. With its striking cabins placed lightly along the shoreline, it offers a secluded and highly curated setting for executive retreats and private journeys defined by discretion, depth and design.

Award-Winning Architecture and Proximity to Nature

Manshausen is known for its prize-winning sea cabins and tower cabins — each designed with panoramic views towards sea and mountain, and built to draw the landscape fully indoors.

The cabins reflect a design philosophy centred on:

  • Calm and comfort within minimalist surroundings
  • Close contact with natural light, sea and shifting weather
  • Views that become an active part of the experience
  • Compact living — where setting and function integrate seamlessly

The main house offers shared spaces for meals, conversation and reflection — naturally anchored within the surrounding landscape.

Nature and Activities — Year Round

At Manshausen, nature is the experience.

The island offers access to a range of activities that can be adapted to groups with different objectives and levels of ambition:

  • Sea kayaking and rowing boat exploration
  • Coastal fishing
  • Guided mountain hikes and summit walks
  • Sea eagle safaris and wildlife observation
  • Northern Lights and midnight sun, depending on season

Majestic peaks, scattered islets and white sand beaches surround the island.
Quiet days by the water and more active excursions may easily be combined within the same programme.

Particularly Suited to Smaller Groups

Manshausen is especially well suited when the objective is proximity to nature, calm surroundings and experiences with a clear character.

The result is a compact yet varied gathering — ideal for smaller groups seeking focus, presence and lasting impressions.

The Journey to Manshausen

We arrange transport from Harstad/Narvik Airport Evenes, Narvik, Svolvær or Bodø.

Depending on the group’s preferences and logistical considerations, travel may be arranged by road or by sea.

In either case, the journey passes through some of the most varied and striking landscapes Northern Norway has to offer.
